Tri-tip rub

Was looking at the big poppa website and all their rubs. I was wondering what others have used for tri-tip and how they liked it.

I like to use a little liquid glue. That's Big Poppa speak for Olive Oil spray. I had one of those pump sprayers from Pampered Chef that will turn regular cooking oil into an atomized spray. I just use olive oil Pam spray now. Just spray a tiny bit on your meat and your dry rub will stick very nicely. I also believe the oil will help rehydrate the dried spices in your rub. Just my .02

BP sells this whiskey infused balsamic vinegar. A tiny drizzle of that and work it in real good before sprinkling the rub. Nine times out of ten I'll use that. Works on steaks and rib roasts as well.
Another thing I learned from BP is using Sriracha as glue. Lightly drizzle and work it in good. Most of the heat from the Sriracha will disappear through the cooking process but a small amount will remain to accent. Apply your rub and your guests will think you're a BBQ god!
