Heat diffuser question

Does anyone use a heat diffuser in their uds? Just wondering, I have only performed a seasoning burn and was curious.

Yea i use a $4 pizza pan with small holes on it from walmart, still lets grease to the fire for flavor and keeps drum temps within 5 to 10 degrees.
