Looks real nice .if it doesn't give the exact results your searching . Try a solid disc in the center about 5 inch in diameter. I would not be surprised if it worked just find as it is. What is the orginal purpose?

BP,Jim it is a pizza pan i have never seen one with holes in it before but that is what they call it.

i will let you know how it works will be smoking some ribs on the drum today.

Just put the ribs on and the deflector seems to be working. Center of grill is with in five degrees of the edge :)

Looks like it is on the top nest mount with a few angle brackets? Temp within 5 I consider perfect. The margin for error could be that much

I bet that it would also help with grease fires on the fatty meats (chicken) that perhaps the grease would just vaporize as it drips in the pan....just a thought. I agree 5* difference seems perfect to me.
