Good morning all,
I did my first smoke last weekend and it was a complete success. I put a 10lb butt on at midnight and it was ready @ 200F in the center 8 hours later (smoker temp was a little high -250 on the BPS temp and 280-290 on the ET732). Took it off and FTC'd it for 3 hours and it completely fell apart - perfection. It cooked a bit faster than I anticipated (using the guideline of 1.5hr/lb)
I'm planning on smoking 2x 10LB butts tomorrow starting at ~6:30 am and taking them off at 190F internal to FTC for a few hours. I'd like to cook it a little slower, but can't afford to cook it for 12 hours and the meat be late for dinner.
How much longer will two 10lb butts take compared to one? Will adding two butts be harder to get the temp up? Will it require more air?
Anyway, forgot to include pics of the maiden voyage, but I'll try to remember this time.
Thanks,
Scott
