Ordered my kit and finally located a safe drum, it took me a year to find one locally so I wouldn't have to pay a fortune to ship it. My question is, is it ok to put the slider vents on the very bottom of the drum? Mine has ridges where they are supposed to go but I think I can fit them in right at the bottom. Seems like it should be fine but any feedback would be much appreciated.

Keep us posted on your progress.
I really lucked out. The first barrels I looked at were unlined, and had a Peanut Oil / Soybean Oil Blend in them. They were closed head drums. The one I ended up with had the end removed for $20. I could have ground the edges and removed the top for reuse as a flat lid on an unopened drum. I am using a Dome Lid, so one already opened was the way for me to go.
