I am new to drum smoking and I have a few questions about prepping my drum. I picked up a used food grade drum, but it seems to have some kind of coating on the inside. Its not thick and is orange in color (sorry can't post picture for some reason). Can I just burn this off or does it need to be sandblasted? The other question is the lid is very tight. Is this normal or did I get the wrong lid? I was in a hurry when I bought the drum and took there word that it was unlined. Any thoughts?
