Pizza?

Has anyone used the drum for making pizza? I searched the forum but most of the use of the word pizza has to do with using a pizza some or pizza pan as a heat deflector.

I think I would need to put another level on the drum closer to the top to make it easier to get the pizza in and out.

I plan to try it. I just got a SS pizza pan on clearance at a specialty cookware establishment (is in a lot of malls, I just don't wan to post other company names on a BPS site, PM if you want the name of location). it was about $12 and will allow the pizza to just be lifted out in the ss basket

What would you consider a good pizza stone?

I decided to just use my webber gas grill yesterday for my grilled pizza because I wanted it to be really easy to slide the pizza on and take it off the grill. (Even though pizza is my favorite food, other than chocolate, I've only done homemade once before yesterday)

I made a total of 5 pizzas yesterday, one really small (6 inch) cheese pizza so that I could get some estimate of time (and sneak in a little snack before dinner).

I had all three burners on high, it got pretty hot in there, pizzas about 11-12 inches were done in about five minutes.
Pizza 2 was for the kids: another cheese only.

Pizza 3 for my wife: Pesto, grilled baby asparagus tips, prosciutto, parmigiana reggiano, and just a little shredded mozzarella.

Pizza 4 for me: sliced fresh mozzarella, tomato and basil.

When I opened the lid for pizza 4 the stone had split into two large pieces.

Pizza 5 was a late night snack, I still had some dough so I made half/half of pizzas 3 and 4 for my wife and I to split. But I did this one in the oven using a metal pizza pan with tiny holes in it.

Sorry no pics since I didn't use the drum and didn't plan on posting.

I am definitely open to suggestions on a good quality stone. This one was purchased at a local hardware store (that I like very much) it came with the stone, a pizza peel that folds in half for easy storage, and a pizza cutter. Price was 39.99 regular, but on sale for 19.99. The box indicated that it is meant for use on a grill. Not a name brand stone (or at least a brand that I had heard of).

Is this a trick question? The drum is a perfect pizza cooker..no stone required. Put it on the grate and close the lid.
