Does your UDS draw a lot attention?

At both competitions Ive done this year my UDS has been a huge attention-getter. Everyone wants to come by and talk about it, how it works, how well it works, etc. I have no problem with it, I enjoy telling people how easy and how much fun it is cooking on a drum. I get a lot of people asking where I got my drum, because they want to build one for themselves. Im always surprised at the amount of people who have never heard of a UDS, and I enjoy kind of being an ambassador for our style of cooking.

Has anyone else had similar experiences?

Ya! One time I was tailgating at a 49ers game and I had 49er photographers come over and take pictures of it and they said they would put them up on the big screen in between 3rd and 4th quarter. Unfortunately I think I was in the beer line at the time so i didn't get to see it.

Until I began searching for a dedicated smoker less than two months ago I had never seen or heard of a drum smoker. My friends think it is cool and my neighbors love the aromas that filter through the neighborhood when I have her in business. After 5 cooks now I am definitely happy with my drum.
