My UDS gone Ugly :)

Hi.

It has been a long time since i was in here, but I only uses the BP - UDS drum. Now it's been some years sinse i buildt my drum, and after washing and scrubbing the exteriour of my drum, the drum is a bit rusty.. anyone who have any experience of sandblasting the drum and re paint it?

Pork chops look great! Around my area it is easy to find someone that will sandblast and powder coat your drums on the cheap. I have had it done a time or two, but I usually pass my old Gateway Drums on to the less fortunate (Jambo cooks) and just get a new one!

I would just hit the rust with some sandpaper and then give it another coat oh high temp grill paint. It has the primer and rust inhibitor in it. Unless you want it to look brand new. Nice lookin chops by the way.

I did last year.. but it's worse this year... thinking of getting a "new" used drum used for food purpose, cheeper than sandblast it.. I'm building my secound drum as well so think that will be the solution.

have you considered going with a Stainless drum?

Hi, yes but it's hard to get in Norway... just prepping me a new (used) drum i guess

Made about 10 of these just last year and 3 this so getting used to making them

but Tnx for advice smokersaurus
