A Giant Hen on the Drum

It's been awhile since I've posted. Still cooking, I'm just not having a whole lot of luck with Photobucket lately.

I raise my own poultry... built a chicken plucker last year to speed up the processing. It's really helped me out a lot!
If you are interested in building your own, here's how I did it... Cowgirl's Country Life: My Homemade Chicken Plucker

    One of my meat chickens...

    the plucker...

One of the smallest birds. It weighed 12 1/2 lbs.

Seasoned with Big Poppa's Money Rub...

Into the BP drum at 325F...

    The bird was huge!

I settled on some of the breast and thigh meat...

Loved the Money rub on the hen. Came out very moist and tasty.
These huge birds last several meals for me. Almost like Thanksgiving turkeys!

    Thanks for looking!

    Thank you Scooter and Babel!
The birds are huge. The largest was 19lbs. Bigger than my Thanksgiving turkeys.

19lbs? That's huge! Megolith C-Rex. I raised heavy roasters one time years back and they were 9-10lbs. Thought they were big......
