Butts on the drum

I finally got around to smoking some butt on the drum. With a full level basket of coal I got 15 hours of steady 250 degrees out of it. AMAZING!
I cooked these fat side down with an empty pan underneath on another grate to catch the drips.
I did have to finish these the final two hours in the oven though. I wrapped them in foil and added apple juice. They took 17 hours!

These were awesome! I can't say I liked it better than the ones I do on my MAK but I loved the flavor! I used kingsford blue for this by the way.

Just spotted comp on sale at the local grocery store tonight so I grabbed a bag to give it a try. I'm curious to taste the difference.

That's pretty much the reason I like blue bag. You can get it all year long anywhere on the planet practically and 3 times a year it's dirt cheap! It burns steady and a real long time. For low and slow, can't beat it. For hot n fast can't beat hardwood briquets or lump!

Nice lookin pork there Chili!!
