Hi Temp problems.

I completed my drum kit this past week and just had a chance to give it a test run. It was ok for about the 1st hour and a half, but then the temp spiked to 300 and I could not get it to come down. Any suggestions?

OK here is the story...fire needs oxygen as its fuel......PUt a blanket over it and it goes out....fan it and it gets hot....you have to be more careful with your intake of oxygen...also make sure that you do not leave the top off for long periods of time....If it is fine for awhile you need to be staying ahead of the increase when you see it start to spike back it down...sometimes I do a cook with 1/3 of one hole exposwed....

The other culprit is how you have the drum intake in relation to the wind....You should always have the drum intake facing away from the wind
