questions about stainless drum

I'm about to build my 1st drum and I was able to procure a new stainless drum. Is there anything special I need to drill through it. I've read to use a titanium or cobalt step bit and take my time. I would love to hear from anyone with experience with it.

I built my SS drum using the step bit that comes with the kit. Cobalt step bits are kinda pricey (45 bucks @ Lowes). I bought a 1/4" cobalt bit to drill smaller pilot holes and then used the included step bit where 3/4" holes were called for. Be sure and use a variable speed drill and go slow with steady pressure. Cutting oil is a must because if you overheat the bit it's garbage after that!
