Decided to break in the new drum with a Tri-Tip. EVOO, house seasonings topped with a dash of Money Rub and minced garlic.
Getting the coals started. Filled the fire basket about 1/2 way full with Hasty Bake and a pellet pouch of Oak.

Cooked really well! Barely had to mess with the vents and it maintained an impressive temp range!
I used pepper plant BBQ sauce and it was delicious! The flavor of the meat was unique in a great way...totally different than an oak pit or pellet smoker.
I can't wait to get a party started and fire it up along side my bbq pit and pellet smoker! I'm definitely packing this drum up and taking it camping with me to the coast in a couple weeks...
