Major Dilemma

Hi everyone,

I'm brand new here, and have already gotten a lot out of reading so many great posts. Thanks so much for being here!
I just got the EDS kit, and I have a brand new barrel.
My dilemma is that it is way too cold out to paint! And will be for the foreseeable future. I have no indoor options.
I really want to use my drum smoker this coming weekend.

How crazy am I to be thinking about using it unpainted, rubbing on some oil before it rusts, and then disassembling when I can finally paint it? Has anyone actually done this, or faced this problem?

Thanks!

As it turned out, I took a chance and spray painted at about 42 degrees. Worked just fine. Got very lucky it warmed up outside at just the right time. Did a great brisket and st louis ribs. Drum held a steady 225 for hours. Awesome!
